Video Production for the Web

This is a 2-day course that’s designed to give you the skills and the confidence to produce video for the web that’s professional in concept, execution and delivery.

Web video may well be quick and cheap to produce, but research shows that the higher the quality of the video the more willing a viewer is to watch it. Basic film making competencies are now required skill-sets for Marketing & Communication Managers, Training Managers and Web Masters.

Shoot and edit your video
Distribute your video across multiple delivery platforms

By the end of Day 2 you will have made two short films (c. 2 -3 mins) as evidence of your new-found production skills.

Day 1 – Production Essentials

Day 1 is about becoming familiar with the mechanics of web video production.

Digital video expectations – how YouTube and the ‘instant gratification’ mindset has changed viewing expectations
Video production formats – ones that are proven to work well for ‘in-house’ production
Cameras & Equipment – the digital camera options available to you
Delivery platforms – social media, web hosting and content management systems
Camera angles and lighting – how to set-up a shot and light your subject so it looks professional
Editing and encoding – how to make sure your footage cuts together seamlessly.

Day 2 – Production Essentials

Day 2 is about putting the knowledge you acquired on Day 1 into action.

As part of a small production team you will produce 2 videos based on a pre-prepared Concept and Treatment.

You will chose from

An instructional ‘how to’ video
An interview with ‘an expert’
A story-telling ‘case-study’

In 3-hours, and under professional supervision, you will prepare, record, edit and upload your finished video.

Training Venue

The course is held at a professional film studio in London. Here you are free to experiment and be inspired by the atmosphere that a such a location creates.
